We began investing directly in real estate in 2011, and in our first decade deployed over $460 million of equity capital into approximately $1.9 billion of commercial real estate assets across 46 transactions alongside leading institutional sponsors. We continue to expand our client-owned portfolios of commercial real estate assets through the investment of new capital and reinvestment of exchanged proceeds from sales, as well as the onboarding of new best-in-class sponsor groups in commercial real estate sectors we find favorable.
